Over the summer, I finished my first quilt. It’s a Christmas present for my mom, so let’s keep it under wraps for now.

Unfortunately, it did fall apart in the wash. I was able to fix some of the seams that came apart. But they don’t look nearly as good as they did before it went into the washer.

Lessons Learned:

  • Do quilt excessively. Don’t trust that it’s just going to hold because of magic.
  • Do wash fabric as soon as it enters the house. Don’t think that you’ll just wash it later. Because when it’s time to cut and piece, you’re not going to wait for the washer and dryer.
  • Don’t use the adhesive binding spray. It’s sticky and it gets everywhere and pins are just as easy.
